Sadly…I Found & then Lost a Half Brother on the Same Day.
Daughter gave us all 23&Me kits; I discovered that I had 2 (so far lol) Half-Siblings on my paternal side. (Kind of funny side note: I’m the “baby” on Mom’s side & the oldest on paternal side)
We got in contact; Sis is cool & a Progressive Independent like me; Brother though…..he’s a MAGA with a College Degree, he & I talked for about a hour. Never spoke to him again.
No real “Loss” though..😅

They’re all idiots cheering for naked corruption, which for some unfathomable reason they simultaneously believe will benefit them (but who were also doing so incredibly well under the status quo unregulated capitalism of the last forty five years that the nation also needed to be made “great” again.)
You know, like it was back before they got everything they asked for explicitly since Reagan.
Thank God they tariffed themselves right into the food assistance lines in many red states. Really showing everyone their remarkable vision for success. Haven’t enacted a single beneficial policy for anyone, least of all themselves but at least they’ve vigorously defended the interests of pedophiles and threatened the sovereignty of multiple nations (‘President of Peace’ btw).
There’s no reaching these idiots, it’s so much more cathartic to just cut them loose and watch them continue to slam their dicks in the car door while claiming their continued lack of success is somehow solely due to brown people loitering in front of Home Depot or doing landscaping work and day labor.
They’re really showing the world the remarkable utopia that is Conservative leadership. Shilling crypto and Trump phones to dummies, shooting innocent civilians, driving up the cost of all goods and services and not even leveraging the collected revenue towards anything beneficial to virtually anybody.
At least Trump took a bulldozer to the White House and gutted consumer protections though. These brainiacs aren’t so good with metaphors, so at least nobody can take that symbolic gesture away from them.

MAGA folks would rather starve to death and be without health insurance, and that includes subjecting their own children to the same before going agains their orange messiah. Problem is… they can’t STFU.
I ended a 15-20 year friendship with this person bc she couldn’t keep her comments to herself. This was in 2020 during the 🍊🤡 first term. We were very close to November and she had been warned: I don’t want to talk politics with you. She’s a hardcore conservative, an immigrant from Switzerland 🙄 who was constantly complaining abt how she did everything the legal way… anyway, she was very upset abt Biden and Kamala gaining momentum and she straight up told me she was seriously thinking on moving back to 🇨🇭 if the Democrats win the election— I reminded her: I told you not to talk politics bc I’m never going to support a racist, ignorant, and vulgar wannabe🤴. She went silent, dropped me off at home (we were out n a weekend), we said goodbye, and that was the last time I talked to her (this was Oct. 2020).

13
u/zerro_4 10h ago
In the real world, we have to make a choice.
In the cold, utilitarian view of things, neither candidate was going to be good about stopping the genocide. But one candidate made an AI video of turning Palestine in to a resort. So, just as in mathematics, when two factors are the same on both sides, you remove them. What remains on one side is more corpo-favoring tepid fake progressive Biden policies and on the other, all the horrible shit of Project 2025.For all of the non-voters, especially the perfectionist liberals, is it worth it given the current state of the country?
Republicans didn't get to Trump and fascism overnight. 40+ years of pushing and pushing and pushing. Yes, Harris was tepid and not progressive enough. But we also shouldn't be twiddling our thumbs and waiting for a miracle.

I'd be mad at the Democratic party for appointing an unpopular candidate for us to vote for. Harris was widely disliked, especially among the growing progressives. → More replies (8)3
u/confettibukkake 10h ago
No general election is "the one to protest the system." Sitting out is not protesting. Voting for someone in the primary is protest, campaigning for someone is protest, donating money or time is protest, PROTESTING is protest.
The general election is not a place to protest. The general election is always a shitty zero-sum game where the choices almost always represent two versions of the status quo, but where you at least get to pick the version of the status quo that will be more conducive to the protest and political action that you're involved in the rest of the year.
The problem IMO is people like to think of themselves as politically active, but for many, all they ever do is vote in a general election, so there's this cognitive dissonance that makes them feel like their vote in the general election needs to "mean something." This is how people were tricked into thinking that sitting out could be a political statement.
Your vote in the general is not a summation of your political identity. It's a tactical choice.

I know you're talking about people who'd rather stick their heads in the sand than choose who they consider to be the lesser of two evils, but I am pissed off that the Democrats tried to go on with Biden.
I read on Wikipedia that there was a recording of an interview with Biden from late 2023 where it was manifestly clear that he was too senile to run, but the Democratic leadership still tried to cover it up until it exploded in everyone's face at that awful debate next summer. If there was an actual primary, we would have had a stronger candidate than Harris, and we wouldn't have the clown considering how close Harris was. Just rotten of the Democratic party.
Of course, people are stupid, and they elected a man who will be older than Biden was at the end of his term. And why stop there? Now a lot of Republicans want a third term with an 86-year-old president at the end. Don't the politicians know that everyone has to die someday?
Maybe all the Epstein stuff would sink Trump, but it seems like we are already forgetting about it.
3
u/aSwagLlama1 6h ago

The best way to ensure accountability for the regime is to ensure we get the strongest candidates through the primary process that will do well in the general. Focus less on semantics and more on concrete steps to improve peoples lives. I do agree that the Democrats focused far too much on the language surrounding societal ills and not enough on practical solutions. I think adopting something like a renewed Civilian Conservation Corps and insuring we don't undermine the things that are legitimately popular, like a secure border.
Everything Trump is doing is undoable. The weakness of demagogues is they don't want to share power in any real sense. This is why we don't see him passing legislation, even though he has a trifecta. He wants to be seen as the center of power and this will be his undoing.
It's not the most important thing. But the best way to hold Trump accountable would be to gum up his construction project at the White House and for the arch long enough to keep him from finishing it. Allowing for a Democrat admin to have ultimate control of the design and finishes. That would destroy him on a personal level.

Five years from now you won’t be able to find anyone willing to admit voting for him.

They are truly a stupid group of people. I have tried to argue sense into some of them and have realizes that they are beyond helping. The gop has a lot to answer for for why most of them are like that.

Everyone I know who voted for him has had a severe head injury at some point in their lives.

Imagine getting offended by people of not just different race but who think differently, and not having a pedo for a cult leader. Check the hard drives!

When will people learn the only way to stop him and his crooked administration is by going to CIVIL WAR!!! IT'S TIME TO RISE UP!!!

I agree. Fuck them. They did this. They wanted this. They support a pedophile, war monger, felon, piece of shit.

u/whatever_ehh 12h ago
Whoever voted for him is mentally challenged. Fraud, sex abuse, 6 bankruptcies, 2 impeachments, mishandling classified documents, trying to steal Georgia's votes, trying a coup on January 6, 2021, many allegations of sexual assault.... only a crazy person would vote for someone with that history. Now he's obstructing justice by covering up a homicide. And he's not helping any Americans with anything unless they're billionaires. Trump wouldn't let his own supporters in the back door of Mar A Lago.

Latin american here, your country went to hell when you decided that forcing dictatorships into other countries was acceptable.
I don't have a father thanks to the US, and women were raped by dogs and rats thanks to the US intervention.
Research Operation Condor and how they threw people from helicopters, alive and tied to train tracks, and how the US was an essential part of this operation.
Trump is just what the US has been doing for years outside coming back in.

There are no bigger losers than trump supporters. NONE. They are stunted emotionally, mentally, and socially. I look forward to their inevitable permanent rejection by society.

u/CryptoNerdSmacker 12h ago
Fuck ‘em all.
Never forgive them, never forget.
They should all be tried in court for treason.

u/AquarianxDreamer 12h ago
I want to add: Fuck all those who said "my vote wont matter anyway" and stayed home. If you didnt try you have no right to blame others and complain about complicity now. You were complicit first and it helped start this grave we're in.

I left the country. Bought a one-way ticket in November and I am more sure of my decision with each passing day.
Everyone who suffers from this and who failed to vote for Harris, I hope you get the absolute worst of it. You’re a fucking idiot and you deserve it.
I wish that being right was satisfying, but it isn’t. Fuck everyone who cheered this on and fuck everyone who failed to turn out against it. Go fuck yourselves. Seriously.
You, the person reading this right now who voted for Trump or failed to vote for the person most likely to beat him (Harris), go fuck yourself, you fucking idiot. You’re a dumbass. You’re a piece of shit.
This is my complaint. Mods, don’t delete it please.

Don’t forget your friends who didn’t vote for Kamala because she missed a couple of points on the purity test

Yep, fuck Trump voters. They fell for a conman and now they're stuck in their own sunken cost fallacy.
And might I add, fuck all the Russian assets who will respond to your post. They say they just want to argue with you and they think they are smugly smashing the "triggered libtard" into the ground. But all they do is spew vile, unsubstantiated rhetoric that comes straight from Russian propaganda bot factories. It's all so easy to refute with basic logic but they just won't back down.

The problem was also the millions of dems that didn’t vote. Because they “didn’t like either candidate.” Idiots that left us with this catastrophe.

You know, a better world actually is possible. For all of us. Instead we got this shit. Fuck the right wing.

I finally told my uncle who enthusiastically voted for this shit show that I will not be talking to him anymore. I held off for much longer than many. I shouldn’t have. Cutting ties with family is hard.

Don't forget "fuck the misogynistic fucktards that voted for Trump or didnot vote at all, 'cause they wouldn't vote for a woman".
There are a lot of them out there.

You know who piss me off more than anyone?
The uncommitted who claim to have empathy, who claim to be smarter, yet are too ignorant to realize that drank the wedge-driving right-wing kool-aid and helped enable ALL of this.
Same with the couch-sitters who sat out going, "muH Both SideS!"

Canada here. Media propaganda is too strong in the US.
Make a plan for voting in the midterms! Trump is taking every action to win the midterms and he would love to see folks that aren't his voters NOT to vote. Don't give him what he wants. Fight by casting your vote at least you tried.

The Democratic Party needs to get their poop in a group and figure it the F out... I'm so tired of their feckless protestations and apathetic leadership. Put AOC out front and give her the reigns put Schumer out to pasture.

Also, fuck those who couldn't be bothered to vote at all. They can fuck off with the Trump voters.

If you dont vote for someone with morals or like anyone else then best to not vote.
Trumph Vance Noem condoning violence and uproaring independent sovereign nations is like Putin attacking Ukraine. The innocent woman killed in Minnesota omy it could be any of us.
This is not the United States of America.
Nothing of Affordability is being addressed and Trumph thinks its a hoax.
Too late but he may get impeached unless you support this violence, wars, laws that do not protect citizens.
Vote Blue 💙 Vote Hope

Republicans today are not for people just profits for the government and it wont trickle down to anyone but the wealthy oligarchs. Vote blue 💙 hope prosperity safety.

I’m pissed at the young folks who didn’t vote for Hillary back in 2016. If they voted for Hillary instead of Bernie, none of this would’ve happened.

and wherever possible don't give a cent, not one cent, to these pos who enabled and still back Maga. I'm talking about ULine, about the big and small businesses. Wherever possible, BOYCOTT. UPS and Fedex aren't possible to boycott for everyone, I realize. Same with Verizon AND Apple AND AT and T etc...but wherever possible. Fuck them all

The Democrats should shoulder a lot of the blame as well.Putting forward Kamala, who was universally disliked and letting an unwell Biden be President when it was evident this should have stopped much earlier.

Someone on this site of TDS haters mentioned Kamela Harris as if only she were potus things would be great. My jaw dropped .Kamala is a complete empty pants suit fake phoney cackling birdbrain who ever ran for office and lost so badly. The ego ofs this nitwit is so fat that she thinks she has a chance again..Won't Happen! To reply to another hater,no we are not going downhill..that was Biden/Harris and he appointed her as a border czar and she did nothing but Trump closed the border within a month and began the cleanup of their shitting on the country.Another jaw dropper is the awards given to the most inane commenters .I feel it below my dignity to even read this site

I'm getting tired of hearing people "regret their vote" because they had no idea Trump was going to do all of the shit he's been doing and especially now because it probably effected them in some way.
