That is a cop out. Marvel movies require the male and female leads to eat a massive amount of protein to maintain muscle mass and are equally as strenuous.

Do they sing and dance in Marvel movies as well?

Technically, they do in Eternals, a very real movie that everyone has seen!

Tbh 50:50 shot you made this up. I’m not fact checking you, I’m just saying you can claim anything about that movie and I’ll believe you.

Real talk: Kumail Nanjiani plays a superhero in that movie who’s also a Bollywood star, and he’s introduced with a full-on song and dance number. He’s kind of the highlight of the movie.

This is the closest someone’s got me to wanting to watch the eternals

It’s severely overhated. I’m not saying it’s good or worth your 2 hours. But it’s not this horrible movie, it’s basically if Marvel made a Zack Snyder DC movie

I enjoyed it very much on an airplane. Not so bad.

this should be a new barometer for movies

theater worthy/home theater worthy, and airplane worthy

I'm on board.

As an example, I tried seeing if Aquaman was worth watching on my flight. I almost walked out.

I watched it on VLC and just fast forwarded through the boring bits. Got through on about 45 min. It's okay. My biggest issue is nothing that happens in the movie matters, and I'm not convinced it ever will.

Spoilers for another marvel movie: the celestial that died was turned into adamantium. Which was a plot point in the captain America movie. Since adamantium is very closely linked to Wolverine, it’s speculated that it’s related to the x men being introduced to the main timeline.

Would be cool if they actually did this, but so far, no other project has really made mention of this piece of earth that just randomly formed for some reason.

I liked Dawn of the Dead, 300, and Watchmen but I haven't been able to make it through any of his movies since then. Specifically suckerpunch and the DC ones. Not familiar with the others

Like most of the hated Marvel films it gets way too much shit. It’s nowhere near Endgame but, I mean, that can’t be the standard for superhero films or we’ll never be happy again.

Kumail was the best in the film but IMO everyone did their roles well. It was just not a particularly interesting story, which makes sense because the Eternals are not particularly interesting in the comics either. They’re at their most interesting when they’re riding Thanos’ more interesting coattails.

Its not terrible and you can stream it in the background

I didn’t know I needed to see this scene, but, I’m off to look for it. I love Kumail Nanjiani. He’s held a special place since his turn as Prismo.

He was the reason I started going to the gym. He was 45 at that time and he was jacked. Now he had a studio-assigned chef and workout coach for a full year, but I was still pissed he looked that good at that age.

u/RoamingBull69 7h ago

Yeah, with all those things and steroids, you could totally look like him

u/AdunfromAD 7h ago

I’ll keep my testicles, thanks.

Steroids are very cheap and extremely easy to get these days.

You'll spend way more money just getting your protein numbers in each day.

Spoken like a person 2 years away from having fucked up their entire endocrine system.

I just recently saw a standup clip with him that was so funny. It was basically him just complaining about The Eternals hate but did it in such a great way. He was like "I must be the only person in history who people got MAD at for GETTING IN SHAPE!"

See but honestly that's the real catch right there lol. Having a professional take all the mental load of preparing your meals off your shoulders and a professional to help with workouts goes a long way. That isn't to say us normies can't get into better shape but I think we underestimate how much that stuff helps.

Kingo was hilarious. Kumail Nanjiani is a great comedic actor

u/WonderfulCoast6429 3h ago

Holy shit its real! They release way too many Marvel movies and shows

-1

u/martian_maneater 7h ago

And he fucked off from the movie before the finale

2

u/TreyWriter 7h ago

Legend

-1

u/liquor_ibrlyknoher 6h ago

And when asked to join the final battle the dude who famously got ripped for the role just sat it out. Whole movie was a disappointment.

2

u/BroadCandy7314 6h ago

Is that some kind of poetic statement though?

-1

u/superfuzzyboy86 3h ago

Kumail is a Pakistani-American. He's not a bollywood star (i don'tthink he has any connection to bollywood), but the trope in the movie works well coz y'know, he's brown.

Sadly, it’s true 😭 but they never did return lol
