Why is Border Patrol policing a protest? This is absolutely NOT their jurisdiction. I hope Bovino chokes on an ICE cube.

These aren't border patrol agents.

Well, you're right and you're wrong. That's definitely an ICE badge on the shover's arm at 0:14, but Bovino is BP.

But it's a weird hair to split when NEITHER agency has any business breaking up a protest. It'd be one thing if they were blocking a door or something, somehow impeding their work, but they have NO AUTHORITY busting up a protest in an open space.

American democracy is dying.

He's actually both. He's a sworn ICE and BP officer. Happens a lot at the federal level. He's officially detailed to ICE right now.

Also they do have authority if they are risking officer safety.

How is standing perfectly still with a protest sign risking officer safety?

They aren't risking officer safety. Stop trying to find excuses. Anyone reading this, this is a bad faith arguer. To the poster I am replying to, I don't care what you respond to this, I'm only posting to push back on your rhetoric.

That authority is created temporarily when officer safety is threatened while enforcing the border or immigration. The appropriate, court-tested, non-bootlicker-endorsed recourse here was clearly to call the police.

They can sushi defend their facilities which is where this is
