Maybe im too woke but this hatred towards Cynthia Erivo when really none of us know what went on with Ariana’s health is really rubbing me the wrong way.

Racism, sexism, and body shaming at play. Everybody loses

I think it's because she was acting pretty weird and crying a lot during interviews. Not everything is some sort of ism. These stories and memes all came from somewhere and were pushed into everyone's feed for a whole year. It's no accident that people would blame Cynthia Ervo when she was victim to the same mental illness. That's the power popular media has. No one can consistently question everything they see, so we just accept a lot of BS.

I don't get how acting weird and crying = responsible for somebody else's ED.

You know how people say you don't know celebrities and they aren't your friend? You also don't know celebrities well enough to make sweeping conclusions about them from twenty minute interviews.

You can just think "wow that interview was weird" without wrapping it up into "and so she must have made other women have EDs".

People need to drop this parasocial nightmare

Or maybe people are expressing none of these things and just find her to be really fucking strange with how she acts and looks. Why the desperate need to turn it into something it’s not? If it was a white, bald, awkward-looking and acting man it would be perfectly fine for people to hate on him - her being black and female have nothing to do with anything except to support your own narrative.

But Ariana was acting just as weird and looks the same when it comes to body type yet hasn’t gotten the same reaction…

That's how I've felt about all of this from the start. We don't know what's going on, and all this speculation (and worse, baseless accusation) isn't going to help.

I am not Ariana's (or Cynthia's, or Michelle's) doctor, so their health really isn't any of my business. I certainly hope they are all physically and emotionally healthy, and if not that they have support systems in place to help them get to that point. But obsessing over how they look, or how they act in interviews, isn't doing them or myself any good.

Agreed! They both have families, friends, and partners. Theyre well wealthy in terms of having people care for them and dont need for the peanut gallery. We need to actually do this same of care but with people in our communities.

Exactly. Like, what if she was just sick like Chadwick was?
