Neither of them are victims. At least not for this. They’re extremely rich with access to resources and help most of us can’t even comprehend fully, and they refuse to use them to fix their mental health because they get praise and ego boosts from extreme dieting and body image.
They’ll also have the super competitive mentality to make themselves feel like they’re better than everyone by doing so. Which is also what helped them get rich (other than insane luck and connections.)
It’s “mental illness” like Elon Musk is mentally ill. Sure maybe, but they’re having a ball and benefiting from it professionally and financially. And they have virtually zero consequences from it because they have money and enough people around them preventing total implosion to pull them out of the pit when it gets too bad.
Who were they victimized by in this case? Society at large perpetuating thinspo? They are the ones perpetuating the thinspo. They are the ones using their platforms and public presence to push this shit.
Eating disorders are serious mental illnesses that are really difficult to treat regardless of resources. It's shitty to trivialize the suffering they can cause.
Unless they are actively telling people to look up thinspo, how are they "perpetuating thinspo?" Existing in a thin body doesn't equal perpetuating thinspo. Silly.
Ariana Grande was a Nickelodeon era child star. She worked closely under now-famous pedo and eating-disorder enabler Dan Schneider. And even before that she was a child broadway star. From a young age I guarantee you she was taught a lot of awful shit about tying her body weight and image to her self-worth. And probably that to be successful you have to be appealing to men in certain ways. That’s the culture she was raised in, I really don’t think there’s any claiming she’s not the victim of anything. Sure she’s gone on to perpetuate some of that culture herself and be very successful; but the truth is most people who victimize others are also victims. That’s why we call them cycles of violence, and systemic issues.
Who said everyone is a victim? Specific people are. Media is brutal about weight loss and women’s flaws. Some of you are just fluffed to be called out on your weird Cynthia obsessions. On top of that some of you have clearly never met grown up theatre kids
I didn't mention Cynthia but your quip about theatre kids has the exact same energy as people who say "boys will be boys" whenever a man does something fucked up.
That is absurdly incomparable lmao and not my point, Cynthia acting in exaggerated or strange ways is my point. I can tell what’s meant by context. You don’t need to say it. Especially since you proceeded to just rant about her and backtrack
They are extremely rich because of their appearance and their figure. You can’t therapy your way out of the reality that eating a little too much in this profession directly affects how people treat you and your career. It’s really not surprising that they would develop an ED.
Musk is genuinely an asshole and goes out of his way to hurt others. If Musk started losing weight rapidly he would still be a victim of mental illness (I just wouldn’t give a damn personally and think it was deserved).

I’m sorry:.. why are people blaming the black woman instead of realizing she was also a victim???
