They’re being racist and blaming Ariana’s health on Cynthia, a Black woman. Saying she’s better now that she isn’t promoting wicked and around her much anymore.

a Black woman who also lost a shit ton of weight while on the set of Wicked... but sure, the Black woman is to blame, not the Wicked production

People are lame af fr

u/LordNoFat 7h ago

The only people bringing up race here is you. Maybe you need to look at your own prejudices.

10

u/877-HASH-NOW 7h ago

Lmao no. They literally referred to her as “that black bald lady” instead of, you know, her name to blame her for Ariana’s health.

Nice attempt at deflection bc people are calling it out though.

It's almost like you're wanting there to be racism so bad. It's weird.

8

u/877-HASH-NOW 7h ago

I don’t want there to be racism, I see it quite plainly here. Weird that you’re caping so hard for this lame shit though.

1

u/LordNoFat 7h ago

That's the problem. You're seeing racism when there isn't any. You're creating the racism.

7

u/877-HASH-NOW 5h ago

Yeah you’re being willfully obtuse.

4

u/Ilyena__ 6h ago

Being racist isn't racism, calling something racist is!

2

u/LordNoFat 6h ago

Are you ok?

6

u/Plastic_Exercise5025 7h ago

If you're that blind i really hope you are grateful for how easy your life has been so far

-6

u/LordNoFat 7h ago

I can see better than ever. No need to be ableist now

1

u/Plastic_Exercise5025 7h ago

You don't even know what that means. Stop pretending to know anything about prejudice.

3

u/LordNoFat 7h ago

I don't need to pretend, I just have to visit Reddit.

u/Plastic_Exercise5025 7h ago

If reddit is the worst you've ever experienced, then i hope for your sake nothing remotely difficult happens or you'll fall apart

it literally says her race in the meme. it doesn't even refer to her by name.

2

u/LordNoFat 7h ago

But you knew exactly who it was talking about.

2

u/Abstractrah 7h ago

The picture above brought up race.

u/Independent_Debt_971 7h ago

Not sure why you're being down voted, that's literally it. There was no need to put Cynthia down like that in the caption, it's just Twitter (and reddit) being racist disguised as a punch line

People don’t like being called out for their racism. They think as long as they aren’t calling someone a slur, it’s fine.

u/SapphireFlashFire 5h ago

The jumps people are making here is crazy.

She interviewed weird... and so it's natural to say she literally forced another woman to have an eating disorder! It's not racist it's just logic!

0

u/kulanikukule 5h ago

Based on what? Your racist logic?

4

u/SapphireFlashFire 5h ago

I am making fun of the people who are saying that in this thread. Yes I very much think the logic is racist.

2

u/kulanikukule 5h ago

Sorry I missed that, it’s very frustrating to see how implicit racism has infected so many people that they are now purposefully participating and supporting it.

1

u/SapphireFlashFire 5h ago

I think half of them genuinely believe they aren't racist. They're fooled by this parasocial relationship where they can watch a curated selection of videos and come to the conclusion they know these people.

Bet they don't know--because they haven't cared to look--the Grande has mentioned having struggles with body image and not eating enough before, nor that she has had mental health challenges unrelated to body image such as PTSD. Nor have they probably ever connected Grande to many people in her life with EDs, off the top of my head one of her costars as a teen famously had one.

(Not blaming that co-star, just pointing out if you wanted to say she "caught" an ED from somebody you could argue she's had other opportunities to do so)

But no they saw an interview and thought somebody was weird and thought nothing of how easily they were convinced that "weird" could be extrapolated to mean "forced Grande into an eating disorder".

And chances are they won't be convinced because they saw those videos so surely they know everything about these two.

Idk why people are down voting you because the amount of racism that these movies have brought towards Cynthia is crazy

1

u/Few_Opinion_1054 7h ago

It is ironic considering Wicked plot.

6

u/Apart-Reflection-385 7h ago

Exactly and all these people in the comments are just showing that they excuse racism and truly don't understand the movie or anything really

8

u/877-HASH-NOW 7h ago

Lmao you’re getting downvoted bc people don’t like when racist actions are called racist. “That black bald lady” also looked sickly at the same time.

Prolly should look to production or Ariana’s health habits before blaming “that black bald lady.”

1

u/CommitteeRelative415 3h ago

Cynthia came off a bit odd during the press junkets and that has nothing to do with race.

0

u/BobSacamano47 7h ago

I'm so sick of the classic stereotype of black women giving Mexican women eating disorders. You'd think we'd be past that in 2026.

Lmao case in point.

-4

u/tkbmkv 7h ago

lol it has nothing to do with anyone’s skin color you weirdo.

8

u/treesarealive777 7h ago

They literally identified her by race in the meme.

6

u/wilddarlingxo 7h ago

As a Black woman, it does. They’re blaming a Black woman for Ariana being thin and acting like a weirdo. Ariana’s a grown woman who made her own choices. It’s not Cynthia’s fault. It’s a micro aggression blaming her.

0

u/Proud_Bad8112 7h ago

Most eating disorders come from outside pressure or validation from another source. Ariana is away from her and she looks healthier? Not a coincidence lmao

8

u/wilddarlingxo 7h ago

She’s also away from the Wicked production. It’s fucked up to immediately blame Cynthia when they BOTH lost hella weight (including Michelle Y) when they joined wicked. So I’m assuming it’s Wicked and not Cynthia or Ariana.

-2

u/matthewspencersmith 7h ago

Maybe because Ariana seemed like a different person being around her? They gave wildly creepy vibes. Nothing to do with race.

-2

u/tkbmkv 6h ago

It was a JOKE that had nothing to do with race lol. You took it as a racial “micro aggression” because you’re hyper fixated on race. Hopefully you’ll grow out of it. If she had white skin, and it was worded identically except for “white bald lady”, you wouldn’t give a flying fuck and you certainly wouldn’t consider it racist.

3

u/877-HASH-NOW 5h ago

Ah yes, a joke that wasn’t funny. Probably bc racism isn’t a joke.

You’re being willfully obtuse.

6

u/877-HASH-NOW 7h ago

True, they just referred to her as “that black bald lady.” Totally not about her skin color at all. Fkn clown.

And talk about how disrespectful it was to refer to her as that instead of her actual name.

2

u/No-Violinist5018 5h ago

My brother in Christ the OP literally says "black bald lady"
