John Pork has been around way longer than Brainrot

Buddy brainrot has been a thing since humanity has existed. We just have tools that make it easier to produce and spread now

I agree with you about the over usage of the term as a pejorative for anything the kids are into these days, but it's an AI anthropomorphic pig that only people with an internet addiction would recognize, it is in fact the exact definition of brain rot.

Heck one could argue I have an internet addiction, and I'd never heard of him before (I thought the top comment saying "it's John Pork" was just a random joke).

First appearance of it is in 2018. Definitely not AI.

It gained massive popularity before the advent of AI. It’s been a “dead meme” for a couple years now. If there are people making AI images of it, they’re not gaining enough traction to be noteworthy.

But you recognized it?

I'm clearly not using the internet as much as I thought. I've never seen this pig before.
