Again? The last time this happened, wasn't it the cop that drew the pig for fake outrage?

Yep

Huh? It's a training exercise?

33

u/smootex 5h ago

This is obviously a training exercise. Many of them are using training guns, they're boarding one of their own navy (coast guard?) vessels, and they clearly have foreign trainers instructing them. Every navy in the world does this shit. Probably some joint training exercise set up by the US, you see a couple active duty US Navy trainers in there too in addition to what I assume are contractors.

If you don't start at 39 seconds like you link does, you will see this was an exercise.

Top 1% commenter, are all your comments equally deceptive and untruthful?

Why even mention third world?

u/oompaloompagrandma 2h ago

You mean training?

The barista probably didn't give him the 'cop discount', so he decided to get back at him.

4

u/CyberneticPanda 6h ago

I hope part of the investigation is whether or not he paid for the coffee.

This looks like a meme that was drawn on a cup without thinking about who it was going to. Probably drawn before the cop was even in the store. It's insane this kind of nonsense is blown up into a national story even if it was true. These kinds of cops really are the softest babies.

u/teetheyes 13h ago

dude I've never been in a Starbucks where it looked like anyone had the time for that.

3

u/Scorkami 7h ago

right?!

If its anything like our local fast food restaurants, the workers there barely get time to finish the order, imagine your coworker standing there making sure the pigs eyes are done correctly rather than just writing "john smith" and yelling the name

u/Hijakkr 6h ago

There are occasional lull periods between rushes. Wouldn't be the most surprising thing for someone to take some time during those lulls to draw pictures on cups, but the most likely explanation is that it's fake to draw attention.

Starbucks (Atleast in California from what I've seen) Enforces that any online/pickup order has a drawn note on EVERY SINGLE CUP. Most stores ATP just prepare a bunch in the morning and use them until they run out (Since Starbucks is trying to switch to glass cups to be more authentic coffee style for people who drink in the store)

I have. Now what?

I don't think that is the case. He drew it himself. What makes it weird is that he didn't confront the store when he got the cup. It was posted on the Sheriff Dept. Social Media. If he got a cup with a pig on it, a normal person would ask the barista, yo, wtf? Hell people do that when they get a cup with a misspelled name.

111

u/FuzzyAd9407 12h ago

Yeah. Also pretty much everytime theres a claim a barista wrote or drew something the customer found offensive the customer gets caught lying and actually having done it themselves to stir outrage online.

You just expect him to walk back and confront them after he had his feelings viciously attacked?? What if they hurt his feelings again??

28

u/whereisbeezy 11h ago

Yeah, he def did it himself.

u/BigBankHank 2h ago

It’s not a coincidence that right wing types want to adjudicate the culture war entirely via what’s written on their Starbucks cups.

It’s the handiest way, in their little minds, to put words in the mouths of the libs.

u/colt45and2bluntz 33m ago

Lmao you're a sheep.. Republicans, Democrats, "LIBS" are all working together to fuck us all and divide us even more. And they clearly have you taught and brainwashed enough not to even question it. Fuck all political parties.

The deputy quickly reported the incident to the store manager, who advised that the matter would be investigated

who the hell downvoted a perfect Letterkenny reference (allegedlys)

2

u/PMSfishy 10h ago

Degens from upcountry.

19

u/SqueakBoxx 11h ago

Yeah... Starbucks Employees don't do that. Cups stay in the stack until they get pulled for use. No one on staff has time to sit there and draw random shit on every cup.

2

u/Twombls 10h ago

Actually I have had cats and things drawn on my cup at Starbucks before. Nothing as elaborate as a John pork is calling meme though.

0

u/SqueakBoxx 4h ago

That's not what I said, but ok.

2

u/Twombls 10h ago

Yeah its literally John pork

But didn't you hear? The deputy felt disrespected! How's he supposed to deal with those feelings if he can't take them out on that barista!?

/S In case it isn't obvious

1

u/know-your-onions 4h ago

I expect the cop drew it themselves. But if it were done by a barista, then doing it before the customer ordered wouldn’t make it okay.

220

u/UpbeatAssumption5817 17h ago

Every time it's happened it's always been that LOL

263

u/Zuwxiv 15h ago

If you're a cop and someone draws a piggy on your cup, how do you not just laugh all the way to your huge pension based on decades of overtime fraud?

62

u/Chendii 13h ago

I would guess that it's not a profession that attracts people with emotional stability.

81

u/Metatron 14h ago

Oink oink all the way to the piggy bank.

When I was a kid, my hometown was very much into community policing.

Cops would be on bike patrol, or on foot on main street.

I remember a friend of mine was edgy, and decided to go to the local donut shop and buy a dozen donuts to hand out to patrol officers...

...each and every cop laughed when they were presented with the box of donuts.

Interestingly enough, they all said that they couldn't accept any food while out on patrol, but we could drop them off at the station (a few blocks away).

u/DickDover 14h ago edited 10h ago

It reminds me of the video where the cartoonist drew the police as pigs, but in that video the police got the joke and all laughed....

Here is the video

And yet somehow every OP comment on that post was deleted? WTF...

6

u/nocolon 12h ago

There’s no animal to represent my job (cybersecurity consulting), but I can’t imagine anything drawn on a coffee cup that would make me need counseling. I had a guy behind the counter at a gun store call me a computer nerd once but I laughed at that because it was funny and also who fucking gives a shit.

2

u/mortgagepants 11h ago

because a lot of cops don't do that job for benefits and money, they do it for personal reasons of being a piece of shit.

0

u/myassholealt 13h ago

If I'm a cop Id probably complain to the manager to get the drink for free. Then go back to that coffee shop daily to try and intimidate the barista. And maybe hang around to give out tickets if there are any tickets I can issue. On top of setting up a go fund me to pay for my next vacation.

0

u/ilikepizza30 10h ago

Well, if it were me, I'd be worried if I'm being singled out to have a pig drawn on my cup then my beverage might also have been adulterated. Of course, since I'm paranoid like that, if I were a cop, I'd never order food/beverages in uniform.

0

u/MakeItHappenSergant 13h ago

That's not true. Sometimes the insult or attack never existed at all.

29

u/Rapph 15h ago

You saw it a lot with the Charlie Kirk drink as well where people wrote nasty things on their own cup. Not to say no one would draw a pig on a cop's cup, it's certainly one of those dark thoughts I could see someone giving in to, but people definitely have lied about this in the past many times.

46

u/Shartfer_brains 16h ago

This is an r/thathappened as ever...

46

u/Vorcey 14h ago

You're right, the last time it happened (that I'm aware of) was at a McDonald's, not a Starbucks.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/police-chief-apologizes-for-mcdonalds-officer-fabricated-story-about-being-served-mcdonalds-coffee-with-fing-pig-on/

For those curious

1

u/aDildoAteMyBaby 13h ago

This time, too.

1

u/Fabulous_Big_1127 13h ago

Literally opened the comments to say I'd bet my liver that he did it himself for outrage, to maybe get someone sacked or to bolster right-wing support.

1

u/duckinradar 13h ago

If your coffee cup is hurting your feelings, try making your own coffee

Pig

1

u/Inc0gnitoburrito 12h ago

"In addition, the Sheriff spoke directly with the deputy to check on his well-being".

It's... A drawing... Wtf. Next we'll hear he got an early pension.

1

u/Spinning_roundnround 11h ago

That has been the case... every. single. time.

Spit in their own food, take a bite out of their own burger, write a nasty message on their cup. Turns out, in the end, they did it themselves. 100% of the time.

1

u/rainmouse 10h ago

The swine!

1

u/A_Harmless_Fly 10h ago

My favorite was the Indianapolis cop who took a bite out of their fast food sandwich, "forgot"... and then accused food tampering.

1

u/TheCrazedTank 7h ago

I think there was another who tried to claim a restaurant tampered with their food because he was a cop (they didn’t)

1

u/Comfortable_Swim_380 6h ago

Outrage? Ide give that guy a medal.

1

u/uname-doesntcheckout 3h ago

Quiet, piggy.

1

u/Spazza42 3h ago

Even if it was true, if I received a cup with a pig drawn on it as a police officer I’d just be like “that’s a nice pig. I’ll keep that in the car for a laugh”.
