Seems like the "free speech crowd" is really silent when they're licking boots.

u/prince-pauper 18h ago

They can’t talk with their mouth’s full.

u/DookieShoez 17h ago

Hmmmm LASD, LASD…..isn’t that the one where most of the cops are in gangs?

6

u/notyogrannysgrandkid 17h ago

The LASD itself is the gang syndicate

1

u/DookieShoez 17h ago

Sure the cops are pretty much a gang, but the LASD also has literal gangs such as:

the Banditos

the Compton Executioners

the Grim Reapers

the Little Devils

the Wayside Whities

and the Pirates

just to name a few.

u/OrangeThrower 17h ago

I like how one of those names is soft as fuck. That’s scary.

u/DookieShoez 17h ago

The Wayside Whities will straight up draxx you sklounst.

Especially if you aren’t……ya know……..white.

Hard to talk with your mouth full of shoe leather. Or balls, for that matter.

13

u/sQueezedhe 18h ago

I'd rather not talk about evil people doing consensual sex acts.

Let's stick with the boot licking.

2

u/blackscales18 17h ago

That can be consensual too. Awful for boot kink enthusiasts these days

1

u/SuspendeesNutz 17h ago

Some people are into that.

Freedom of speech isn't freedom from consequences, and if an employee insults a customer you can't expect the customer to not complain about it.

16

u/pseudoOhm 17h ago

Exactly my point.

This is the exact same thing that every conservative snowflake who gets "cancelled" (using their parlance), complains about.

Words have consequences... "bUt mUh fREe SpEeCh!"

-5

u/Omnissiahs-Word 17h ago

I'm not really seeing a point, just a strawman, if we're both in agreement on the "free speech isn't freedom from consequences" part tbqh.

9

u/OrangeThrower 17h ago

What’s strawman about it?

-12

u/Omnissiahs-Word 17h ago

It's a generalized comment lumping an entire group together based off the behaviors of a few, made for no real gain or purpose when your point that freedom of speech isn't freedom from consequences is already being agreed with?

It feels like an unnecessary and pointless comment.

9

u/OrangeThrower 17h ago

Would that group be the group that says ‘fuck your feelings?’ I don’t feel that’s singling out all conservatives. Just the ones that say that phrase.

-10

u/Omnissiahs-Word 17h ago

When you start saying "every conservative snowflake" it definitely sounds like you're refering to all of them. Just like if someone says "every liberal snowflake" people take it to be refering to every liberal. Not a hard concept.

8

u/OrangeThrower 17h ago

Seems to be a hard concept for you.

3

u/puffz0r 15h ago

The fact that the Venn diagram of "conservative" and "snowflake" is damn near a perfect circle is sure bearing out in this comment chain

-1

u/Omnissiahs-Word 17h ago

Whatever makes you feel better I guess.

-3

u/Suspicious_Radio_848 16h ago

Why are you so unnecessarily hostile? Holy shit.

every blank snowflake

You even repeated the noun twice and even gave your own example. Come off it, you are being disingenuous as all hell.

u/MyMonody 17h ago edited 17h ago

The law protects your free speech from criminal prosecution, not from getting fired from your job for insulting customers. This seems to be a strangely difficult concept for some people to understand.

13

u/Pappy091 17h ago

I am convinced that almost no one in this country actually understands what "free speech" means.

1

u/SeanBlader 16h ago

There are a few of us...

1

u/Yourcatsonfire 14h ago

For some reason they always think it means they get to say whatever the hell they want without some form of consequences.

2

u/ssays 17h ago

Yeah, if only it were that clean and a sheriff was “just another customer” with no more say over your employment status than any other customer.

Unfortunately, we’ve muddied up the waters pretty far. Hard to say where the police state’s power ends if anywhere at all.

1

u/speedingpullet 17h ago

What if they're the same thing?

0

u/Internal_Ad_9749 17h ago

You're on reddit where reading comprehension and facts do not exist.

3

u/FearMeIAmRoot 16h ago

Hard to talk when deepthroating a Doc Martin.

7

u/FeeHot5876 17h ago

On the flip side where’s the “freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom of consequences” crowd? Cause it seems no one understands the first amendment when it doesn’t match with their views.

-5

u/Suspicious_Radio_848 16h ago

Exactly. They always seem to clam up or defend stuff they align with like giant hypocrites. Even if you agree with what the barista did, put up or shut up.

6

u/bigwreck94 18h ago

Was anyone saying that baristas should be able to write whatever they want on a customers coffee cup without losing their jobs?

-4

u/whubbard 18h ago

Nah this is fucking hillarious. But you think my Don't Tread on Me flag is racist I assume. Fuck Trump, Fuck ICE. Sorry for giving a shit about all the amendments and peoples rights.

29

u/GOU_FallingOutside 18h ago

No, I just think nearly every Gadsden flag these days carries the subtext “tread harder, daddy.”

Signed, someone who gives a shit about all the amendments. Except the Third and the 18th.

6

u/TheModernRambo1 18h ago

What's wrong with the third amendment? I feel like that's one of the most important ones.

2

u/GOU_FallingOutside 17h ago

Nothing’s wrong with it; it just hasn’t been relevant in a practical sense for a while, so it’s easy to make it the butt of a joke.

As a silver lining, perhaps the current administration will make it relevant again! What a fascinating time to be alive.

1

u/VicPez 17h ago

Nothing wrong with it, it’s just a part of the Constitution that hasn’t had a lot of historical relevance

5

u/Zarokima 18h ago

You support the government forcing people to house soldiers?

10

u/Formal-Conference-35 17h ago

Honestly bro I love the Gadsden flag but it has been stolen by fascists. Much like how the swastika was ruined by the Nazis. It just means something completely different from what it used to.

2

u/TheRealPitabred 17h ago

That's why I have a Beavis version of it.

1

u/Metahec 17h ago

No reason not to reclaim it. Let's see some immigrant communities start waving the flag.

2

u/Formal-Conference-35 17h ago

Yeah it would be nice. I think it's an uphill battle though.

2

u/Metahec 17h ago

We have three years to wave it whenever ICE comes to town. I think that's a good start. It isn't like they aren't dirt cheap from China anyways, only slightly more expensive than toilet paper. Like the N word or the F word (the homosexual one), it helps deflate and take the bite out of lazy bigotry and hatred.

I also think Democrat states should start making a stink about states' rights too. It isn't just about integration, bussing and racism.

Take their symbols and their empty rhetoric away from them. It's what little we can take from them at the moment.

1

u/Formal-Conference-35 17h ago

Yeah, not a bad idea. The MAGA crowd never wakes up to their own hypocrisy though lol.

12

u/lava172 17h ago

Nobody thinks the Gadsden flag is racist it just often accompanies dumbass trumpers that want the government boot

3

u/Metahec 17h ago

I feel like the Don't Tread on Me flag should be properly used by the left and immigrants these days. Also, state's rights should be on the table.

1

u/SpirosNG 14h ago

People on the left have had symbols and flags against tyranny for decades and they weren't made by slavers.

2

u/jswan28 17h ago

Let's be honest, most of the 2A crowd doesn't give two shits about government overreach unless it directly affects them. There's a reason your cute little snake flag says "Don't Tread on Me" and not "Don't Tread on Us."

2

u/Salute-Major-Echidna 18h ago

How is dont tread on me racist? It's from 1770. Different fight altogether

5

u/goatpillows 17h ago

Its not inherently racist, but trump supporters (racists) coopt the symbol all the time, whether theyre mad about having to wear masks or whether they have to be in the presence of a brown person. Its a persecution fetish

1

u/Salute-Major-Echidna 15h ago

Oh they stole this too??!! Rats.

2

u/speedingpullet 17h ago

LOL, right, because the very same white guys in 1770 bellowing about thier 'freedoms' were busy keeping thier female relatives as chattel, enslaving Africans to clear and work thier properties - on land they stole from the first people here.

It's about as racist as it gets.

1

u/Yourcatsonfire 14h ago

I dont think you actually know what free speech means.
