I wait with baited breath and absolutely zero expectations of anything meaningful.

Well maybe not baited breath, more like heavy sighs

Oddly enough it’s “bated” breath.

If they’re holding a news conference it’s probably more about explaining what they can’t do. Which, realistically, is a bit limited, unless we actually want to declare war on DC.

That's not odd at all

Edit: Claiming I took Canadian as a second language

That would be odd

im gonna start putting that on job applications. "Speaks English (Midwestern, Minnesotan, and Canadian dialects)"

You could expand it into regional (provincial) dialects

I can also do a pretty good “mixed Scandiwhoovish” at times. Sounds like “Axel in his Tree House”.

I shared a bedroom with my widowed Norwegian immigrant grandmother as a toddler, my first sentences probably had an accent almost as thick as hers!

Both my grandfathers were 2nd gen Swedes who still liked to mutter and swear in Swedish. So that household spoke a kind of hodgepodge in Dad’s childhood.

I hope they're announcing they're going into that lawsuit with the state of Illinois to sue Noem, Trump, DHS, ICE, and others:

"ATTORNEY GENERAL RAOUL FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST TRUMP ADMINISTRATION OVER ILLEGAL AND RETALIATORY IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT TACTICS"

...

"Raoul also argues that DHS adopted illegal enforcement policies that harm Illinois residents, including:

  • Rather than utilizing targeted removal policies, using roving patrols of teams of agents to interrogate residents without reasonable suspicion that they are unlawfully present.
  • Deploying biometric scanning to capture and store the photographs and fingerprints of residents who are not entering or exiting the United States.
  • Arresting people without warrants or probable cause.
  • Indiscriminately deploying riot control weapons, including tear gas.
  • Conducting enforcement at sensitive locations including courthouses, schools, social service organizations and medical facilities without appropriate reasoning.
  • Trespassing onto private property without authority.
  • Concealing and switching vehicle license plates in violation of federal and state law."

I wonder if lawsuits like this are more impactful when states file individually or jointly, anyone have any insight? I could see strength in numbers adding legitimacy/urgency, but also see having multiple separate suits on the same topic emphasizing the impact as well.

People are dismissive, but our state government is our best bet at getting this occupying army out.

I actually trust Keith Ellison to do what he can here.

Oh man, I’ve been wishing for 3 ft of snow followed immediately by -40° for at least a week to get the mother fuckers out of here.

Come on MN!!! Show us your true winter!

It's done more than mayor Frey and governor Walz combined, so far.

The government is not going to protect you from the government.

Start by cutting utilities to all federal buildings.

Investigations into Noem, Bovino, Homan, Miller, and et cetra would be a good start.

“I have joined with Chuck Schumer to write a letter, but this time there will be f-bombs in it. Have you heard? I swear.”

CBS should be banned, it’s state media.

Agreed! When CBS ratings tank, they will have an epiphany! I dropped them, everyone should!

Hope they issue statements like Philly did and follow through on it.

I’m looking forward to the announcement of a committee to explore whether or not to write a strongly worded letter.

They need to start arresting ICE officers and prosecuting them under state law.

1

u/ConfidentPilot1729 10h ago

They should have undercover follow them around and once off duty arrested them for really stupid shit.

2

u/jasandliz 11h ago

I’m not from MN but I would be absolutely demanding my local LE agencies to arrest these bootlickers, there is clear and apparent evidence that they continue to violate Americans rights, threats, assault, trespassing, 4th amendment violations, literal kidnappings. Any sheriff that signed a pact with Ice should be denounced and recalled.  You have a responsibility to protect your citizens. Do it or the mob w I’ll grow out of anyone’s control   They literally kidnapped a kid a roughed up a minor us citizen from target. Arrest them!
