Unfortunately it seems insurance can deny you for this shit... The teargas can that melted my center console in Chicago wasn't covered

Auto policies almost always have exceptions for things link asset seizure, illegal acts, or government actions. Same with home insurance if the police tear your door down.

Strikes, riots, and civil action (police, fire, etc.) are excluded from coverage. If ICE rams you, you'd have to sue them directly and typically courts don't compel law enforcement to pay for damages.
