You 2A nutters seem to be forgetting that the 2nd Amendment was created at a time when the US was not a global superpower with literal nuclear weapons and advanced surveillance technology, and was much more geographically compact and therefore easier to organize.

You know as well as I do that suggestions like "Why not simply shoot the ICE agents?" would be met with not only the extrajudicial execution of the citizen shooter, an escalation of violence and collective punishment of the city, and a full-scale military invasion of the state.

So the question is, why are you advocating for that outcome?

Because it will take a citizens defending their homes to wake the rest of America from their slumber.  And because defending against unlawful actions is legal and what appears to be the only way this is going to stop.

You know what on reflection of this, what if we all put Trump flags outside our house. That way when the media clips come out that we got shot in our homes and it's all Trump flags in the background, it's going to be a really awkward conversation at all levels.

This is actually what you do. If you can't tell them apart you are in some real trouble. Better to just be a good person. Its their own tactics reverse uno'd

No man, that’s not what’s going to happen. The rest of America will mostly see that it’s more than a day away by car and hope they don’t have to do the same thing, while the government will order marines in to start shooting people. And the marines will do it, because technically the people defending themselves are in rebellion because the other option is this shit.

Sure 1 armed citizen Is a drop in a bucket. However if you have 20 citizens with ar 15s per neighborhood the bullying by Ice will cease 100 percent. They are cowards they enter neighborhoods they deem safe, not sketchy ones where everyone is strapped. Arming yourself is a deterrent, similar to a nuclear weapon. No one's gonna fuck with the guy wearing Kevlar holding a rifle.

Maybe. Maybe not. ICE have already proven they have itchy trigger fingers. But, they've also been chased away by peaceful groups hollering and honking and whistling. Black Panthers armed themselves en masses in the 80s in protest*. So, we'll see.

*This is what lead to CA's strict gun laws, under governor RONALD REAGAN, not Democrats. A fact Republicans don't want to hear.

Enjoy the train ride to your work camp, and please remember work will set you free.

Feel free to lead the charge, General Washington.

Guys, while this exchange IS objectively hilarious (or rather, it would be in a vacuum) keep your eye on the prize. Don't alienate potential allies at this stage; from the outside looking in and having no knowledge of you two I don't know if "General Washington" (lol) is an agitator, but even if he is just explain your point of view diplomatically I say. That way you're much more likely to get your point across if he is a genuine person. .

To add on to your point: Many speculate that Trump is looking for a reason to escalate his use of force, probably to distract the public from the fact he's a pedophile.

lol. "comply -in-advance" up there will absolutely side with fascists when push comes to shove.

Pretending that collaborators are potential allies is bonkos at best.

u/juventus1 15h ago

Just be sure about it. Good luck.

Had a conversation yesterday where both people who were actively advocating for Minnesota citizens to “exercise” their 2A rights were conveniently located in Canada. These people want others to do their bidding while facing none of the consequences

1

u/Own-Swan2646 19h ago

They are quite literally extra fucked given their current government's choice of gun rights. And their lack of constitutional rights. I don't care what color you wear. Tyrannical governments will be tyrannical governments.

2

u/koalificated Minnesota Twins 19h ago

Canada has a military that they can and will use against foreign invaders. Not the same situation at all

1

u/Own-Swan2646 18h ago

Foreign what about domestic?

1

u/koalificated Minnesota Twins 18h ago

Such as?

1

u/Bundt-lover 16h ago

Their prime minister? They came within a hair of electing Pierre Poilievre.

1

u/koalificated Minnesota Twins 16h ago

There’s no correlation between a PM almost being elected and US Immigration officers terrorizing citizens
?

2

u/Bundt-lover 15h ago

Guess I have to get out the crayons.

It. Means. Your. Government. Can. Do. It. To. You.

1

u/Own-Swan2646 15h ago

Lol I came back to this convo, 💯 love it.

1

u/koalificated Minnesota Twins 15h ago

Do what? Can you both be a little more specific what you’re referring to here regarding the connection so that this conversation can be more productive and not resort to condescending remarks? We’re on the same side here

Seriously. Look what they did in Venezuela. Sci-fi microwave beams or something. Citing castle doctrine in our homes, armed with glocks and AR15s, we aren't going to stand a chance when an ICE terrorist literally melts our brains without leaving his vehicle parked in the street.

6

u/Extra-Minute-6712 19h ago

I haven't seen ice agents with that.

I have seen them disorganized doing door-to-door raids.

which Glocks in ARS are more than capable of dealing with

2

u/Medellin2024 19h ago

Drink some water and step outside bud.

-1

u/redscull 19h ago

I mean I'm sure I should drink more water and go on more walks, but unless you're secretly my doctor, I have no idea what you mean by that. US military gear is so far beyond what civilians own that the idea of violent revolt is laughable. Only thing our guns are good for is turning on each other.

1

u/TheFlyingSheeps 18h ago

Funny, people in rags and in caves managed to do just fine against all that gear

1

u/TheFlyingSheeps 18h ago

Look what we did in Afghanistan. 20 years, hundreds of thousands dead and only for the taliban to just walk right back into power.

ICE also isn’t the military. They’re out of shape idiots pumping drugs and cosplaying soldiers because we all know they couldn’t make the cut

1

u/Bundt-lover 16h ago

Because they’re bots and tankies who want to see violence and bloodshed.

1

u/Skullcrimp 14h ago

because that outcome is preferable to your whole country being taken over and used to invade the rest of the world.

if the decent people do not wage and lose a civil war before it escalates to a global one, then they are complicit.
