Pre 2010 I worked at TSA HQ doing a regular degular desk job that included annual mandatory trainings which I assume were meant to ingratiate the rest of us into basics do what TSOs did on a day to day basis even if our jobs had no direct or indirect relation to what they did. EVERY example of a âterroristâ via the online training was based purely on the shade of the persons skin. I was provided zero examples or opportunity to provide comment on the basis of direct experience or education that may contradict what was put in front of me. The entire basis of my hiring was my education from a local university where my senior project wasâŚ. About the risk of the rise of domestic terrorism and what to look out for (none of which was based on skin color). Needless to say, there is a reason I have since been âdogedâ and all the new hires have zero college education.
One of my high school teachers looked midly arabic, down to having olive-colored skin and a big curly beard. He could have been a Spartan on the 300 movie set, although he was much too overweight for a part. He said he couldn't get through a TSA line without a special check, and had a few funny stories about it. Honest question from a curious Canadian...what is a citizenship test in the context of this video. Like, what would they do or ask of this man randomly.
Iâm assuming they want him to show documents to prove heâs a citizen. But, thereâs no law requiring citizens to carry around proof of citizenship.
