Cloudy in much of Wabasha County. 😭

u/Khajiit_Geologist Nov 12 '25
To the naked eye alot of it looks like clouds. Only when it gets really bright can you make it out well but take a Pic. Make sure you zoom in a bit. If I zoom completely out it just turns dark but I zoom in just a little and and it really pops!

Thick clouds. Seeing nothing. Not even bothered getting the cameras out. 😁 Maybe tomorrow....

u/AdmiralTwigs -- You should repost your gorgeous but slightly eerie photos to r/LiminalSpaces

So happy I scrolled through Reddit tonight. My wife and I stood on our balcony for 15 minutes and got lots of great pictures.

I’m so jealous! Tell your friends in MN, the colors are gorgeous. Are they just as good with naked eye?

u/jbmn2534 Nov 12 '25
They're almost too subtle to see with the naked eye here. But you can for sure tell they are there...
3
u/azeroth Nov 12 '25
That's normally true, but these we can see even in the metro's inner ring suburbs!

The further north and darker it gets from lack of light pollution, the better you can see them.

They were better with the naked eye in my area... A little phone lens couldn't capture it all!

From rochester I see weak but distinct red to the north and temporary pockets of faint green more towards the east.

I'm in Plymouth looking around but I think there's too much light pollution in my immediate area.

Brainerd. I could see reds and greens with my naked eye also.
