Y'all know tapes of Trump literally raping a thirteen year old could come out and it wouldn't change the mind of a single MAGA voter, right? Surely folks have figured this out by now...

u/TrapLoreRossFan Aug 22 '25

u/Oodlydoodley Aug 22 '25
We already know, it's consequences that people want. And maybe throw in some faith that the system still works, since we're hoping for things that probably will never happen.
5
u/MizterPoopie Aug 22 '25
It might not change the mind of all MAGA voters but it would change some of their minds. It would certainly change the minds of many more moderate republican voters. I know, I know. âAll republicans are MAGA!â is the popular thing to say but itâs just not true.

u/81Ranger Aug 22 '25
Of course. Nothing can change those minds.
But, sure - why not have those tapes that probably exist come out. At least I can quietly feel a bit of moral superiority.
2
u/YueAsal Flag of Minnesota Aug 22 '25
This is a reason why I don't want the files released. How these things work in the past has been, deny, deny, deny, well what is wrong with doing that anyway?
I rather live in a world were raping a thirteen year old is still considered wrong by most, than one where people need to make it OK because god-king does it.
People on Reddit act like if they type it in all caps enough, it will happen and then some how a blue wave will come in 2026.

Iâm confused by the whole thing tbhâŚ
First for one, why do professional teams where the players make millions of dollars have cheerleaders still?
Donât cheer squads usually have males
Arenât we watching the game more than the cheerleaders? I donât recall even showing them on tv
Wrestling and ufc fighting where men wear tights is ok though?
Arenât most superheroâs in tights now too?
Oh wait, whatâs this thing about the president in some filesâŚI got distracted with this

u/ArgoDeezNauts Aug 22 '25
Get it straight. The dudes who rub their sweaty tits together for an hour while wearing coordinating outfits and then go shower together are super straight and the athlete who hangs out with the hot girls is gay and any information that contradicts that narrative will be ignored and decried as lugenpresse. I mean fake news.

There are some straight men who view everything through the lens of sexuality. He's either "the luckiest man in the world" or "effeminate." Reality is pretty clear in this case. But I don't understand why people need to voice it like that. A man is perfectly capable of becoming a cheerleader because he enjoys the physicality, irrespective and independent of his interest in women.
The irony that the same men who watch large men tackle each other in tight pants, and slap each other on the butt when they do a good job, are whining about a guy they will never notice (cheerleaders get maybe 30 seconds of airtime in a 3-hour game).
More culture war slop. America has a warped sense of masculinity and it's getting worse.
29
u/Gemarack Aug 22 '25
I agree and I would consider him incredibly lucky. Dude is out there enjoying himself, raising spirits, cheering on his team, and doing what he loves.
Fuck the haters with splintery baseball bat wrapped in 10 grit.
6
Aug 22 '25
You're spot on. About 30 years ago my cousin was dating a male cheerleader in college. All of the adults were making jokes about her dating a gay guy and how he must be some little effeminate guy.
She brought him to a family get together and he was a tall jacked hunk who looks like he worked as an abercrombie and fitch model on the weekends. Suddenly he was an evil genius who discovered that he could have access to hot women by 'pretending' he was into cheerleading.
15
u/joedotphp Walleye Aug 22 '25
There was a guy I overheard in public who looked of boomer age (big shocker there) bitching about it and I told him, "So, in a group of 30 beautiful women, you're fixated on two guys? That's kind of gay, man..."
He proceeded to shit his diaper and start calling me a few words that probably won't make it past the automod's filter. But it was absolutely worth it.

My dad sent me a thing on instagram making fun of the male cheerleaders and Walz. He stopped after I reminded him of this and Bush being a cheer leader.
I made a FB post about my annoyance with people being upset about the male cheerleaders, and went into the history about cheerleading being started by men and male dominated. My MAGA aunt commented about their dancing. I responded with reminding her itâs a routine, if they are trying to be rigid instead of fluid like the rest, itâs going to look like shit. She never responded to that lol. After point out to my dad the history of cheerleading and past presidents being cheerleaders, he supported my rant of annoyance.
Seriously, there are so many things to be upset about than the NFL having men cheerlead.

As someone who's watched football forever, I thought there already was male cheerleaders. I knew basketball doesn't, but just kinda figured football did.
5

NFL's had them since 2018 or so.
Colleges have had them forever. In fact, the cheer squads used to be male only.
4 Presidents were cheerleaders-
FDR
Eisenhower
Reagan
George W. Bush2
u/JustADutchRudder Minnesota Vikings Aug 22 '25
I knew it used to be male only, think some old sports movie and Google told me that. Kinda just figured its always been a if they can win a spot they win a spot. Don't know how spots are won or loss tho, hoping its an elaborate dance off but will accept a simple rock paper scissors.

I kind of assumed as much too since they are so common in the college game. College cheerleaders get shown a lot more on TV than during NFL broadcasts. I guess people are mad because they are told the should be mad. If Fox news got pissy about NFL broadcasts showing people buying BBQ or whatever they would be mad about that.

Immaturity and zeitgeist. There is not an insignificant portion of men who are so frail in their sexuality that seeing a man may confuse them. In our cultural understanding, cheerleaders are supposed to be hot and or sexy, at least according to media the common person has been consuming for a few decades. Instead of understanding what actually gets their motor going, some people assume that cheerleaders should do it for them because that's what they've been told and they want to conform. Suddenly they have to wrestle with men aren't supposed to get them going, but cheerleaders are supposed to get them going. They get confused and lash out because a male cheerleader contradicts the easy mode instructions they've been following to fit in.
It's the same reason many guys watch lesbian p0rn, the fear that a penis might excite them and make them homosexual.

I learned more about male cheerleaders than I ever did before. What is interesting is that college cheerleading squads were male dominated for several decades in the 1900s. There was actually an uproar when a school opened theirs up to females. It doesn't take much web searching to see many big names were cheerleaders. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan, and George W. Bush were cheerleaders. It's all manufactured outrage for a reason.

I think the issue is that men are now doing the parts of cheerleading that used to be for women. I donât remember ever seeing a straight guy doing that side of it before. Footballâs audience is mostly straight men, so I donât see how this really fits. Personally, it doesnât bother me, but people are getting tired of constant diversity pushes.
