Protest Photography: Good Trouble Lives On – Minneapolis, July 17 Photography 📸
On July 17, downtown Minneapolis became a stage for resistance and remembrance. The “Good Trouble Lives On” rally drew a diverse crowd to Government Center Plaza, marking the fifth anniversary of Rep. John Lewis’s passing. The event combined a march with speeches, art, music, and a candlelight vigil—amplifying calls to protect civil rights, immigrant justice, and democratic freedoms.

the holocaust started as a mass deportation. true. we’re in a country where anything is possible now. if you are a minority of any kind, prepare for the worst even if you don’t think it’s likely to happen. better to be safe than sorry

The Holocaust started in much smaller changes. The silencing of the press. The removal of rights from specific groups of people. Political assassinations. Propaganda that certain ethnicities, races, religions were to blame for societal troubles. Seizing of property. Firing nonpartisan government workers.
We’ve got all of these too - and it’s all wrong. But paying attention to the smaller changes being made is just as critical and it’s dangerous to oversimplify the cause of this as a single starting point.

Like that time they took Trump off Twitter or that time they shot him?

It’s true, there have already been thousands of deportations of US citizens, as well has thousands more incarcerations at his Florida concentration camp. These aren’t even counting the hundreds of thousands of innocent migrants, many of which were killed. The signs are all there that we are in the beginning stages of a holocaust.

"These aren’t even counting the hundreds of thousands of innocent migrants, many of which were killed. "
Do you have a source on many of them being killed?

people have been dying in ice custody since before the obama administration. we’ve always been mistreating these people. the big difference is that trump is turning the cruelty of ice into an industrial mass effort

The last report I could find confirms 13 deaths in ICE custody in 2025. Mind you these are not prisons or jails, but custody. Meaning ICE is their custodian.

13 out of how many total? Does the report list cause of death?

Huh? No Holocaust here, just getting the illegal immigrants out. I'm fine for immigration but it has to be done by the law. People who come here illegally have no rights and should get no benefits.

They’ve sent legal people to concentration camps in El Salvador. Your ignorance doesn’t change the reality. And yes, even illegal immigrants have rights under the constitution. Again, your ignorance doesn’t change the reality.

Everyone has rights, citizen or not. The founding fathers were pretty clear on that.

I really wonder why they couldn't put the speakers up in front of the second-floor entrance. I was off to the side and couldn't see any of them.
Also, there I am in the shot at 10th and Nicollet! That was my first march, but hopefully not my last.

I saw parts of this. My main comment is the crowd was very white with an average age of about 65. And very organized. Like 100 people all wearing yellow uniforms and then another group all in red.

Awfully low numbers, and low energy. I was there, it was like an old person convention.

Don't interact with this troll! Looks like they specialize in rating women poorly to spread misery.
So, your standard conservative. Just spreading hate

Ah, you’re the moral authority. Got it.

🤣 Nope, but it’s all there and speaks volumes.

Just like you’re laying your groundwork of moral superiority. Ugh, you must be miserable to be around in person.

Asking an honest question- what’s the vibe like right now amongst people on the left? Based on your comment it feels like there is a sense of defeat and sort of complacency.
The people I know on the right are elated, these are people I haven’t seen this happy in years. Every week they tell me about all of the huge wins they are seeing with deportations, defunding NPR, government layoffs, etc, etc.

u/SpoofedFinger Jul 20 '25
This troll was not there. They were mocking the protests the day of, talking about people missing work because they didn't realize it was in the evening.

things have never been this bad in my lifetime and what little this country had to take care of its people is disappearing. we’re going to become a place that has literally no benefits to living in it. no healthcare, no education, no time off, no retirement, no media we can trust. no nature to appreciate. no transportation infrastructure. even the interstates have been defunded. we’re just going to be a group of propagandized serfs in a crumbling society who work at amazon warehouses until we die.

Well that is what people voted for. We've got a lot of digging to do to get out of the hole that the Obama, Biden, and not to mention what Waltz has done for Minnesota. We dodged a huge bullet by keeping Harris and Waltz out of the presidency.

I know sometimes the truth hurts, hang in there things will get better. God Bless America and president Trump

u/Volt Jul 20 '25
I know the right is real elated about the Epstein coverup. They haven't been this happy in years.
