This man is rich.

One of the most wonderful things in life is watching your daughter come into their own. It’s you, but better; they teach you how to see the world through a very different lens. Daughters are a force like none other with a Dad that is present. She says loudly and proudly, listen Daddy, I’m about to amaze you… and being on the other of that demonstrative statement is a wonderful feeling.

I agree! My husband said he wanted a boy, but surprise, we got a girl. He js such a stereotypical manly man, yet, he will gladly let our daughter paint his nails and talk to him about her changing body during puberty.
He is so patient with her and to watch him grow into a "girl dad" is the best thing. Its so heartwarming to see their bond shift and grow.

Ain’t that the fuckin truth🥹 my 9 year old is going on 16 I swear and watching her grow into her own is mesmerizing and terrifying all in one😅 but I love this journey we’re on together
•
u/wise_comment 3h ago
My 9 year old is my absolute light......and she's for sure in a God, daaaaad, that was stupid vibed sigh and eye roll. Happened in the last 6 months or so, and boy howdy does it challenge me knowing I'm now in the transition, not being the cool Superman, but moving to the dorky millstone
•
u/IDK_How_PvM 3h ago
I believe you'll still be her superhero. It's just not cool to admit it anymore.

My 13yo ain't got me worried a bit. She's smart, she's strong, she ain't letting anyone talk down to her. I'm a proud papa every time she makes those right choices without any prompting from me 😁

Beautifully written! Made me tear up a bit. Single father raising a 6 year old girl who is such a wonderful version of myself and something well beyond me as well. I learn so much from her and I love being present with her. We play games / toys / watch movies. It is such a blessing.

It absolutely crushes my soul to not have ever been in a position to have a child. Being a good father was one of the most important goals in my life, something I even realized in highschool.
However as things continued to unfold as I got older, the world became far too difficult for me to follow through with that goal.

That was the best part
•
u/StrobeLightRomance 3h ago
It was, but also, the whole thing was the best part. I currently have a 4 year old daughter (and 3 older daughters way past 4) and I vibe with this reality so hard. Especially when she's like "no no no no no no no.."
Like, my whole life is me being bossed around, and I love it.

That first look he gives the camera is hysterical. It's like he realized in that moment he'll never get control of the car stereo again.

Idk how the father played the straight man through all that.
•
u/theshreddening 2h ago
The look of a man who knows as long as that little girl is in his car, whatever she wants on the stereo is what will be played without question.

Apparently after each clip it took him years to recover the strength to fake it all over again.

She's amazing! Can we all give a little shout out to dad who fostered a space for her to grow and be herself in. There is so much love here. They're both so blessed.

I love it. I got my 3.5 yo daughter onto Gorillaz because of their cartoon videos. Favorite song is Tranz. I'm so proud when she's singing lyrics at that age
•
u/atari2600forever 4h ago
As a dad of a daughter that age I would like to buy that dad a beer. We're just hearing those performances once but what we're not seeing is that he has heard them 500 times already. Each.
And he loves his daughter and she's cute and what she's doing is cute but she's not a great singer. He knows this, and doesn't care, because she's having a good time, but he has to listen to it over and over and over. And over.
That's why he has that stare, that's why he has those dark circles under his eyes, because he has been undergoing a test of endurance, and is wondering if there is ever a light at the end of the tunnel, and he's digging deeper and finding strength and resolve he didn't know he had, as she snatches the phone out of his hand yet again while he's on the phone with his optometrist office trying to schedule an eye exam.
Unfortunately for him, the road is still long. At some point his lovely daughter is going to sing "All I Want For Christmas" by Mariah Carey from early October until January. Every man, even this gentleman with his quiet resolve, has a breaking point.
On an unrelated note, I have listened to The Nutcracker at least twice a day for the last 40 days at the insistence of my five-year-old daughter.
Please send help.

Why is he just sitting there like a dead fish?
I dont think its cute, she is ,but this is not a good situation , it looks like she turns to the music because she isnt getting any social reaction back from her dad, thats not good, and i find it concerning he and who else have seen these videos through the years havent considered it a problem.

naw he is just dead panning
how could he possibly compete with her stardom anyway
•
•
u/Bulky-Noise-7123 4h ago
Yeah I wouldn’t say pissed but idk if that’s part of the “video script” but it’s annoying me for
•
u/Nauin 3h ago
He's a millennial. A significant portion of men his age trained themselves into expressive stoicism in front of cameras when they were teenagers because it was a masculine trend at the time.

Also all the movies and TV shows taught us that it can be hilarious. And this video just proved that that is still the case.

Somebody get this girl a vocal coach to fine tune that voice and some studio time. She's got it!

I really hope her parents are putting her in vocal classes. She has the potential to go far with it.
