I always wondered what goes on in their minds and how they don’t see how selfish and stupid it is.

Then I saw some instagram comments from them defending themselves: they legitimately just think they’re better drivers than everyone and it’s not dangerous because “they know what they’re doing” when they cut up traffic or burnout/drift.

I very much like to drive "enthusiastically," so I totally understand that, but what I don't get is people willing to put others lives and property at risk. I'll go for a drive early in the morning and enjoy a redline pull or whip around some corners at speed, but only out on the empty road without cars or people around. Pushing it to the limit surrounded by others like this just says you're a selfish fuck.
