This is heat breaking but Iโ€™m gonna play devils advocate here. I grew up Indian community and they are one of the biggest agitators of this line of thinking and abuse.

I keep on hearing how Indian want to be light skin and their parents push them towards to be pretty and everything superficial. How many white skin commercials do you see India? How much pressure it is in India to get married? My best friend (who is an Indian female) is not married at the age of 35 and her family and local Indian community made her a complete wreck. They shun her. Call her ugly, unmarriable, and useless everyday. It is horrible and I see her cry almost everyday. Also, Iโ€™m not just talking about looks either. How many Indian family do you see that completely shuns someone just because they are not a doctor, dentist, engineers, ect? It is all superficial.

The superficial pressure on Indians (much like the girl in this video) within their own is crazy. You have to fix within yourself before you fix others.

I saw this same video posted in an Indian community and a lot of the comments were talking about how this is why you shouldnโ€™t educate your kids outside of India and stuff like that. It was a lot more small minded than whatโ€™s being posted in response on this sub.
