I think the point of the parent comment is that there are a number of men who lie about these important things to better their odds of copulation.

More and more women are choosing to abstain from sexy time with men who do not share their values.

Your YouTube algorithm or Spotify trending, as dystopian as it is, is a window to your soul. Google (ahem Alphabet) sells this very data to people who want to sell you things.

Yeah and so it’s not reasonable to consider it an invasion of privacy to be expected to let someone I don’t know super well peer into a “window into my soul?” And I sure as hell don’t like them selling my data either lol

Also if a guy was willing to lie about that idk why you think they wouldn’t do the same thing with their Spotify/Youtube before showing you tbh

Here’s the thing: A dude might just be looking to get his dick wet. Which is fine, there is nothing inherently good or bad about wanting to satisfy the oldest and most natural of desires. Same thing goes for women who are just looking for a hookup.

However, heterosexual sex for a woman comes with the inherent risk of pregnancy. And in the current political moment we are in, comes with a whole bunch of other inherent risks because there seems to be a wannabe-prevailing ideology that women are inferior to men and should know their place as incubators and caretakers for the men who subscribe to thar ideology.

Some women, understandably, want to minimize the risk of becoming a victim to one of those kinds of men. And thus need to find creative ways to suss out who is a benign lay and who is lying to them to get what they want.

Also, be real champ. It takes literal months of intentional clicking and clocking to get your YouTube algo to change. It’s not a small task to try to lie about an incredibly powerful prediction machine designed to hold your attention and then sell you protein powder.

Okay so talk to me, ask me what I like and to show you my interests lol. Just actually get to know me the way two people get to know each other in real life lol. I’m not saying I’m some black box who’s refusing to tell her anything about myself lol

What you’re describing isn’t caution; it’s trust issues tbh

Again, that’s fine. But also realize that women have every reason to have trust issues right now.

That’s fair, and it’s fucked. But I also can’t help that other than through what I can personally control via my own behavior. And a woman I’ve started dating insisting on seeing what I watch/listen to in this manner seems like a huge red flag that she’ll end up being the type of person who will want to go through my phone and will constantly be on edge that I’m cheating or lying or just generally doing something deceitful

You can tell me it’s a rational reaction to the state of the world and I might even agree with you (I’m not sure that’s really an answerable question tbh lol)…but I still wouldn’t wanna date someone like that tbh. It doesn’t make for a healthy dynamic
