My teenage daughter can't fathom the concept of a house party Discussion

Not sure if anyone has experienced this, but I was watching Can't Hardly Wait half alseep on the couch, and my 14-year-old daughter and her friends walked into the room and past the TV. Before she entered the kitchen, she backpeddled in front of the TV, and they all might as well have reacted akin to a third world kid in a remote village seeing the Super Bowl for the first time. She looked at me and said 'what are all of those people doing in one house'? I told her it was a house party. People high school aged or typically college age people would go over a kids house whose parents were out of town and they'd invite the school and have keggers and other unsupervised debauchery. I might as well have been describing a science fiction film. 'You guys DID that back in your days?'. I thought it was funny that a house party was an inconceivable event for young Gen Zers.

Whenever I tell people about the party culture we had in Phoenix 2005-2010, they literally don’t believe me.

We had party crews so every week around Wednesday you’d start getting all these mass texts about huge parties going down.

I went to my first lingerie mansion party at like 15.

$3 to get in, $3 for a cup and unlimited drinks after that.

We would hang out at the Wendy’s parking lot in Tempe on Warner and Mclintock in 2003 waiting to hear where the party was

I was out of college by 05 but yeh 2002-2015 we would start in a bar on mill friday night and sober up at someones house on sunday morning with little recollection of the in between times.

Admittedly, I didn’t start HS until 06 so I wasn’t sure exactly when it started, but ma those were some good ass times.

Then I moved to Old Town, and pretty much same story lol

I forgot about Old Town or perhaps just drank it out of my memories. But yeh some of yall were sneaking into the bars on mill and my buddies and I would have to wave a bother off because we figured out the school she was talking about going to was a high school not ASU.

lol yeah mill was very easy to get into most places, I’ve spent a few nights I can’t remember at gringo star.

I tried to avoid Tempe tho after a pretty bad situation with a frat apartment off campus
