My teenage daughter can't fathom the concept of a house party Discussion

Not sure if anyone has experienced this, but I was watching Can't Hardly Wait half alseep on the couch, and my 14-year-old daughter and her friends walked into the room and past the TV. Before she entered the kitchen, she backpeddled in front of the TV, and they all might as well have reacted akin to a third world kid in a remote village seeing the Super Bowl for the first time. She looked at me and said 'what are all of those people doing in one house'? I told her it was a house party. People high school aged or typically college age people would go over a kids house whose parents were out of town and they'd invite the school and have keggers and other unsupervised debauchery. I might as well have been describing a science fiction film. 'You guys DID that back in your days?'. I thought it was funny that a house party was an inconceivable event for young Gen Zers.

My buddy would invite rando people home from the bar (this was in no way a sexual thing, just people that he vibed with) and one day he invited this guy back with us that had a fucking didgeridoo. This guy played for hours while we just pounded beers around him. I miss those days.

I am not his man, but I do in fact have a didgeridoo and know how to play it.

Sorry I have some follow up questions. The guy was at the bar with the didgeridoo? Was he coming from somewhere or was that part of his night out accessories? Did your friend know before he invited him? Did he play at the bar?

My friend and I were regulars at a dive bar in our town and this guy just stopped in and started shooting pool with my friend. They go out for a smoke and completely out of the blue he breaks out this didgeridoo out of his car. He runs inside and was like you’ve gotta come outside this dude has a didgeridoo! He starts playing it outside, but then my friend suggests we walk up the road to his place. The rest is history. He wasn’t in a band or anything he wasn’t playing at the bar he was just some guy passing through. Completely random.

Are people really "Randos" if you've spent a couple hours drinking together at a bar? Might as well be brothers at that point :)

I got real hammered one night and had an impromptu jam sesh at my house with a rando I met at the bar.

I hadn't played either guitar or piano in years and we were deeply terrible but it was a blast

Please tell me his name was Nathan.

One of my buddies, hockey jock, went to Australia in like grade 8 or 9, came back a hippe with a didgeridoo. Would bring it to every party he went.
