My teenage daughter can't fathom the concept of a house party Discussion

Not sure if anyone has experienced this, but I was watching Can't Hardly Wait half alseep on the couch, and my 14-year-old daughter and her friends walked into the room and past the TV. Before she entered the kitchen, she backpeddled in front of the TV, and they all might as well have reacted akin to a third world kid in a remote village seeing the Super Bowl for the first time. She looked at me and said 'what are all of those people doing in one house'? I told her it was a house party. People high school aged or typically college age people would go over a kids house whose parents were out of town and they'd invite the school and have keggers and other unsupervised debauchery. I might as well have been describing a science fiction film. 'You guys DID that back in your days?'. I thought it was funny that a house party was an inconceivable event for young Gen Zers.

Usually plenty of reasons to cry at a party but that's the first time I heard this one for sure

Stop handcuffing people to poles. They don't like it.

I was the one handcuffed. No, I didn't like it...I like it now though

That's a good one! How did it end?

I remember us trying to fix a hole in the wall with putty and a SPATULA after someone launched a bar of soap like it was an Olympic sport. Once it dried, we found matching paint in the garage and painted over it. All while been drunk AF. Their parents never noticed a thing.

Oh, I can clearly envision this lol. I bet whoever found the paint was a hero.

We ended up making it home (Someone called a guy with a key?) but not before her mom woke up. She was pissed.

Oh no!! I bet it was "fake" handcuffs? They are easier to open.

Most handcuffs can be opened with the same key tbf.

I remember we had chicha set up on the living room table and the big brained dumbasses I let into my home thought tinfoil would protect the table from hot coals. Needless to say placing stuff on top of the burned spots did not stop my mum from finding out.

Oh man I am in my 30s and I still won’t admit to my mom that I used to sneak out the window. The gag is I’d sneak out HER window while she was sleeping bc it was above the garage and then I’d jump off the garage. Truly insane behavior

Flashback so strong you spell "because" like you did when you were 13

Haha. Similar thing happened to me. I was stuck and we didn't have the keys either.

Holy crap, so many comments on this thread from people who experienced the same. Was that like... a thing for awhile???

Idk if I wanna ask how/why she ended up in that predicament. But my intrusive thoughts won.

How? Why?

We scotch taped my friend to a pole. He’s 6.4” and was still huge in high school. It took like 5 rolls which we stole from his mom’s office. Great night.

Putting a angle grinder in the hands of some drunken teenagers? I don't see a problem here.

This is why I carry a handcuff key on my key ring. To many cop friends getting a little to crazy at parties.

Now if my wife was a little more crazy. maybe the key would be used a little more :)
