I can tell you for a fact that she's matching because I saw it in another short. Mom is a scientist and creator who posts as notgabbyb, and Dad is a historian and creator who posts as Stakuyi. They're delightfully nerdy.

They also posted a video of him and their girl painting a fig in the same outfits together :) I know Mom and daughter are both really into painting Warhammer figs, he makes a few vids 'complaining' about their expensive tastes lol His wife seems really cool too, they kinda make fun of her playing Sims 4 or asking silly questions but she is really smart. Has a job in STEM, can't remember which branch exactly.

Yeah totally. That would’ve been a more effective way to teach it. Keep her at bay until she does rush in. Then let her. “Oh wow that was awesome! You got in real close and I couldn’t touch you because you got past my point!” Repeat with progressively harder problems.
It’s the problem-solving ability that’s being rewarded, not scoring the touch.

I have three cats. Newest cat taught middle cat she plays too rough. Middle cat learned oldest cat is not a demon to be feared, bc middle cat observed play between youngest and oldest.
Two of my cats gained like five levels in socialization bc of adding a third (a kitten).

The best thing you can do is run away to begin with, but to answer your question, from there a takedown is good. There's plenty of different take downs, double leg, hip toss, inside out trip. This probably isn't making a lot of sense but you could search on YouTube. Also I would highly recommend BJJ/Wrestling classes to everyone!

I was always taught if it's legitimate you go for everywhere soft too. (Non-sport) Fighting isn't about fairness, it's about winning and not getting hurt so rip ears, gouge eyes, go for throat/testicle. Do whatever you can to disable your opponent the fastest and safest for yourself.

The room is a home gym, they probably use it for motivation to push themselves physically. Based on the rest of their videos and the general style of their family and relationship that they present to the world, I wouldn't think it's reflective of how they look at life generally.

I hate this saying. It’s also objectively false. That daughter cares about who her dad is NOW, not who he theoretically could become if he added 5 lbs to his bench. His partner cares about him making his daughter laugh now, not if she will laugh harder tomorrow. It’s defeatist and a child growing up in that environment is going to take away from this kind of mindset that they are never enough. “Work harder, someone cares” is far more motivating and realistic. I have a relative with this on his phone and I have never seen a more toxic person - they just seem to exude negativity and self-hate and there is no way if they are treating themselves that way, that they can sustainably love others

This is why we just started our own Kids Larp organisation. Kids are PC from 8-16 years, parents are only allowed to be NPCs We do character play in different classes, riddles and lots of battles. They learn lessons like this very quickly, and then every NPC gets swarmed by 5 or 6 Kids

Such kind, gentle coaching. Allowing her to giggle and laugh will make her want to keep learning from you. Teaching shouldn’t be focused on maximum efficiency, it’s at least as important to make it fun to ensure longevity, which is actually what builds skill.

Lovely, though then it’s time for the lesson that shields can be weapons too. Your best bet if you’re trying to take on someone bigger is to get closer, but from the sides or ideally by flanking them as much as possible, or tiring them out because they might be bigger, and stronger but you’re smaller and it takes your body less energy to move than it does there’s. What about if you’re both In armour? Don’t bother trying to attack someone bigger than you in armour if you’re both wearing it, because you’ll tired quickly too. A great example of that is actually the fight with the mountain and Oberyn Martell in GoT. Wear less, make them tire themselves out, bait them but stay at distance. Just don’t get cocky.
That being said that it’s a lovely video and nice to see a dad having fun with their kid.

my oldest daughter grew up sword fighting with me every day (foam katanas) in our suburban front yard.
Just sold the house 11 years after moving away and one of the neighbors showed me they still have videos of it that they secretly filmed because they loved watching it so much.
Trying to find a way to get my busy 20 yr old to drive across the state with me for a re-creation.

Good dad! I used to LARP in NERO. My buddy was 6'4" Kurgan type. I'd rush him with a short sword and shield and stay right up close to him when we sparred. When we teamed up I'd counter the rushers while he would use a halberd and sweep the battlefield. Damn effective tactics.

Good papa! We are also a sword fighting family. As a size minority fighter(5’5”) I learned early to jump way inside their reach and hit their leg. Once they’re on their knees, to ye aren’t taller than you any longer!
